Excerpt from Genesis Game Guide by The Scribe

NAME: Vectorman series (2 titles)
AUTHOR/VENDOR: Blue Sky Software
RELEASED: various
TYPE: Action
LANGUAGE: English

PREMISE: A graphically impressive arcade game with a politically
correct plot. Sometime in the near future, Earth has
been laid waste by man's pollution. A series of robots
have been developed to help clean it up. By a freak
series of circumstances, one of these gets hooked up to
an old nuclear warhead, develops megalomaia, and, well,
you can guess the rest. Vectorman is the game's hero -
the pilot of a spacefaring garbage scow who decides to
                  take Warhead the cyber-dictator head-on.

IMPRESSIONS: The fantastic graphics, almost liquid animation, and
driving technosynth score make up for the holes in the
plot. Both are must-haves for every Genesis fan.

VARIATIONS: Vectorman (1995)
                  Vectorman 2 (1996)

Even though they have dumb stories, these games have fantastic graphics, lighting, sound, and gameplay! If only they could make update........ that would be awesome! I give em a 9.5

Hiryu is correct!

These games were some of the first I played which really could show what great programming could accomplish on the Genesis hardware. The boss stages on the Vectorman 1 are really something to see. Especially that one with the track sequence and the boss hanging from it. Really great sound and Music to go along with.

I actually prefer the graphics in the first one to that of the second one. The second one simply adds on to the first with more power ups but in that process the backgrounds don't seem as well done as the first game. Still there are some Psuedo 3D effects for some parts of the game..and any Psuedo 3D on the Genesis is a good thing.

As they said above, a truely class games. What is suprising is that some of the missions aren't just "shoot the hell out of everything until it dies".

Someone special to look for out of hundreds of identical Megadrive shooters.

Another highly hyped game. But it was worth it! Buy both of these.

8 years later and these games still hold up. Quite possibly the best run/shoot game ever on 16 bit. Wondered why they never were interpited on 32x or even 64 bit platforms. Has mad potential
