Excerpt from Genesis Game Guide by The Scribe

NAME: Samurai Shodown
AUTHOR/VENDOR: SNK/Takara
RELEASED: 1994
TYPE: Fighting
LANGUAGE: English

PREMISE: "A samurai fears nothing, struggles to triumph over evil,
and lives for one purpose - to destroy all enemies." A
conversion of the popular arcade versus fighter that
manages to stand out from the crowd of Street Fighter
clones due to its unique premise.

IMPRESSIONS: Ported from the old Neo-Geo system, this is one of the
worst Genesis fighters on the market. Almost nothing
that matters has survived the porting process. Passable
graphics, jerky animation, and frustrating gameplay. I
like the SNES version better, but barely. (Rage Games)

VARIATIONS: Samurai Spirits (Japanese original)

There must be something wrong with the reviewers from Rage Games, because their opinions are CRAP.

This is a very fun fighting game, and i can think of over a dozen fighting games on genesis that are WAY below the level of this game.

It is worth to check out, its a decent port of the neogeo classic

Ok! Bigger is better! ya we miss Earthquake ...but it is for the best, bigger characters, more fps, and VERY clean graphics more than compensate!

Ya we miss TamTam's line "My blood boils for battle!" but now we have "My sweat boils for battle!" kinda goofy but ...got blood?! hehe of course!

Aaaaaaah!

"This is one of the worst Genesis fighters on the market"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy's has gone completly mad! Do not belive him anything!!!

You don't think this seriously, don't ya!?
In my opinion it's the best one on one fighter beside SSFII!

"Almost nothing that matters has survived the porting process."

Mmmh. You're not right about that.
It's not that far from the original.

I wouldn't know how to do it better!

I'll give ya 5 out of 10 for that.

"I like the SNES version better"

What???? This port sucks! It's crap!!!
Did ya ever played it!?

The Mega-CD-Version was the best you could get
without buying the original Neo-Geo-ROM.

As I told you: Don't believe this guy!
