This version of the popular arcade game features kicking, punching, and a nice variety of other antisocial behavior. As Ty, Kato or Buzz, you must fight for the right to face the Masked Warrior. Get to him faster with Codes 1 thru 14. (The numbers of matches in these codes include grudge matches. In the 2-player mode, an extra elimination match takes place just before the championship match.) In the 2-player mode, Code 15 allows both players to team against Masked Warrior. Experts, try Code 16 to start with only 1 life.

1Mercy - Two players can now go at it in a game of "Mercy". Press the A button when the title screen comes up and go to the options screen. While in the options screen, choose "Practice" mode and then choose your fighters. Once in the arena, move your fighters to stand facing each other and then push buttons A and B simultaneously on both controllers. Your fighters will be holding hands, trying to push each other down. The two plays will have to push buttons A, B, and C rapidly and faster than each other in order to win. Whoever loses will fall and get a knockdown!

1Extra ContinuesTo get extra continues, play your favorite character to level 8, where you will fight Mad Miles for the second time. Pause the game, plug in the second controller, and unpause the game and press Start on the second controller. Next select your fighter and you will start out with three extra continues. The next step is to beat up your former fighter and use your current fighter to take you through the remaining matches.

PREMISE:          A side-view head-on-head fighter with crappy digitized
                  graphics that was years ahead of Mortal Combat in both
                  concept and style.  Ported from the arcade game.

IMPRESSIONS:      Old and dated.  This was a hit when it first came out,
                  but Mortal Combat quickly relegated it into dusty
                  obscurity.  This makes the MK series look good as far
                  as gameplay goes, which says a lot.  About the only nice
                  feature I found was the crowd, which will throw you back
                  into the fight if you stray too close to them.  That's
                  not enough to justify ownership, though.  Discard and
                  destroy.

You know, I used to play this game a lot. Sure it looks like complete and udder crap nowadays but back then it was the coolest thing in the arcades. When it came to genesis, I was happy. In Pitfighter, you pick from one of three characters who each have different martial arts styles. Once you get out in the fight, an illegal ring with people surrounding you, you face your challenger. It's pretty straightforward and ain't too pretty to look at, the kicks and punches look funny, but it was cool back then to see real people on the screen. The music is kinda hokey :) The sound effects are funny. Atleast the bonus stage is fun. You get to beat up women in this game, isn't that fun...... Anyways, the games good for a few laughs, you might enjoy still who knows. I give it a 5

This is a good fighting game. You can choose three characters and start to win fights for money. You have three continues if you lose some fights and you can play with the second controller, I mean against the computer. But if you want to fight against your partner, you can choice at the beginning a practice or wait to have a bonus stage in the tournament. The graphics are poor, the sound is crappy but the gameplay is easy. The only thing I really mess are the movements, they are sometimes slow.

THis is one FINE genesis game.

The digitized graphics were hot back then, and it featured dozens of voices from the fighters and public. THe controls are right on!

This is a good game, and its worth themoney if you can find it nowadays! :)

Beat the hell out of your apoinment for cash! what could be better! you can even throw motorbikes at peopl, and use other items to your advanage! The batter you play... the better your paid!

Sheer comedy. It was superb in it's time, but now it looks ridiculous. Another nice feaure is the fact that sometimes members of the audience try and hit you, and you can beat them up and steal their pool cue or knife! And the fact this game encourages drug taking is, quite frankly, interesting!

The game's a piece of shit. Some things are cool about it, like the digitized characters, and Nostalgia - for me personally, considering I remember it in the arcades.. But this is one of those games that you'll be bored after about 5 minutes of playing it.
