One of Sid Meier's masterpieces for the G/MD.
Not an exact copy from the computer but with new graphics. This game will keep you hooked.

It's really a deluxe version of Pirates! instead of a new revamped system. But that doesn't matter. It plays and sounds like the original and that's a good thing!

You'll find yourself fighting pirates in the name of your king or trade between different ports for the sake of your wealth, but the natural thing is just to gain your profit through plunder and pillage! And you're getting a higher rank with it too!

With a Letter of Marquee you can attack enemies, plunder them and get rich, while all this is getting noticed by your 'ally' who got the same 'enemy' and will eventually reward you, so you'll get richer.

This game CAN keep you playing for a looong time.
It's nice to play until your retirement. Serious!

Pirates! is a super addictive rpg/action/strategy hybrid game about life on the
high seas in the age of pirating. It was ported to many different platforms including the nes. This is a game by Sid Meier, who most of you should know about. He owned Microprose and created the "legacy" known as Civilization and Civilization 2 and many more great games! The game starts with a picked story from the choices you made. What you do in this game is really just up to you(meaning its very very open ended),you can do ANYTHING).You can raid towns, raid ships,
find your long lost relatives, get secret treasure maps, raid the silver train, marry women(woohoo!),gain military rank, or just go and blow everything up and be a pirate! The sword fighting isn't as good as the nes version's(that one was the best!) but it works. The in game map is nice too. Go check this game out, it's awesome! I give it a 9.

This is an excellent game. It is an RPG where you have to command your ship and a crew of pirates. You can help a government like the english, the dutch, the spanish, or the french and be a corsair, or just be a pirate going everywhere to recruit even more men to your crew and make them fight against enemy ships or towns. I think the best choice is to be a corsair where you have the protection of one nation for example the spanish, and you can enter spanish towns, recruit men and conquer enemy towns of Spain. You will have to make fights with your sword to conquer towns or ships and beat the enemy captain. At last you will have to rescue four members of your family, and you can encounter the lost Inca treasure (there are lot of minor treasures too). Excellent game, the graphics are very good the same as the sound, and the gameplay is very easy.

One of the finest games I've ever played on any system. The relative historical accuracy of the game should be recognized among the afore mentioned compliments. Games like this are rare and are a true compliment to the discerning gamers collection.

This is a great pirite game! The best part about this game is the duel mode where you can have a
one-on-one sword fight with your friend(P2). Man this game is alot of fun!

Whoa where to start. The game startes slow with you fighting for your first ship (unless you do the historical thing and you may stil have to fight) and well from there you recruit your salty dogs and head out for plunders and pillaging. The games goals are simple get rich, get famouse, get married, get land, and retire. Of course building your armada and getting some treasure and your sister help you with the game, now i think it is kind of wierd that the gate locks when you go out of the castle but ok. But some of the other things you will encounter that make the gameplay SOLID are the ship takeing/sinking, pirate capture adn ransome, attacking forts form land and sea, and well just useing the wind as your guide. This is obviously one of the best rpg's you will find it (if you can i had to search hard to find my copy). The only game i think it competes with is shadow run and some of those other rpgs out there. (they should remake this and shadowrun for a nowaday console) so this is what i think of the game (two thumbs up) and the game play is solid so peace out.
