Excerpt from Genesis Game Guide by The Scribe

NAME: Outlander
AUTHOR/VENDOR: Mindscape
RELEASED: 1992
TYPE: Multigame
LANGUAGE: English

PREMISE: An arcade-style take on the sci-fi cult classic film
The Road Warrior, second in the Mad Max trilogy. In a
post-apocalyptic future, you cruse the highways of the
Outlands trying to find enough fuel and supplies to keep
moving and thereby stay alive. The Outland is not a
pleasant place, though, as there are biker gangs and
wasteland toughs bent on stopping you any way you can.

IMPRESSIONS: Successful combination of action and car racing in the
same style as TechnoCop. In short, an excellent game
that has aged gracefully and is still fun to play - which
is more than can be said of Nintendo's "official" Mad Max
game for the NES. In fact, while it doesn't look as good
as the SNES version, it plays a lot better. Grab a copy
                  and hit the road!

Awesome driving shooter game. Concept is cool, shoot while driving a powerful muscle car to get other people's resources to survive.

ThePac68 here! from the Internet Clan called "Clan68", i'm one of those proper old school gamers, and i remember playing this game for das on end. It was just so much fun as a driving-shooter, with the side-scrolling platform shooter part, where u can leave the car to try and collect more supplies. I just thought that part of the game was excellent! combined with the driving section. As it can take the pace down a bit from the driving and shooting side of things. This really does get a Thumbsup in my books 10/10. I hope they decide to make a new version of this for the newer systms, as it is a game to be proud of. Would be good seeing a (ONLINE) version for the PC which could have people select either to be a: OutLander cop or a Biker Thug (not sure if the were in a gang) but that would be nice to see!. Someone get cracking on a version like that, as i hope to see it in the shops soon, as i had the idea. bye for now. P.S. ou might see me comment on more games when i have the time.
