Excerpt from Genesis Game Guide by The Scribe

NAME: Dodge Ball - Kuy Kid
AUTHOR/VENDOR: Sunsoft
RELEASED: 1992
TYPE: Sports (playground)
LANGUAGE: Japanese

PREMISE: A pseudo-sport often seen on elementary school
playgrounds, where the object is to hit the other
players with the ball, thus taking them out of the game.
                  (Rage Games)

IMPRESSIONS: A nice blend of action and strategy. Cute graphics, and
may appeal even to non-sports fans. (Rage Games)

VARIATIONS: Also known by its untranslated Japanese title, Dotsushi
Danpei. The full translation of the original Japanese
title is "the flaming dodgeball kid," and it is often
called Fire Dodge Ball as a result.

When this was reviewed in Sega Power in about 1992 it was called the Flaming Dodgeball Kid. That title can be misconstrued and makes this game seem a whole lot funnier!

This game was originally an animated tv show. While I did watch the cartoon when I was very young, tv show was great. In reference to the game, i would consider it to be the best sega genesis game ever. It is very addictive. It is fun playing with your friends and there different techniques you can creatively manage to make the (vs.) game much more fun. I give the upmost recommendation to anyone who plays video games.

Has anyone seen a cart for this game? I would like to get it, but I don't even know if this game was made in america, or just asia.

I just got this game this week (04/17/03) after looking for it for 3 months. It only came out in Japan and costs a pretty penny it get, but it is so worth it. 6 player, at least 15 teams, and a story mode make this the best dodgeball game period. Well worth tracking down

Where the heck did you get it?!?!? I would love to have a copy. Also, does it need a converter to work?

The game doesn't need a converter as long as your Genesis is first generation (ie. Altered Beast). As far as finding it, a private collector in Japan picked it up for me. Some import sites offer game hunting services, try them out. I paid 3 c-notes plus for my copy.

That sure is lot of money. How did you get a private collector in Japan? And can you give me link to a site that hunts games down?

Try videogamedepot, they hunt games down as well as numbthumb.net. I have bought many games from the private collector that I know over many years, so he was willing to hunt it down for me.

To the 1st poster. Where do you download the rom? I've found two but both of them won't work on my Gens emulator. Only the SEGA logo appeard, but the game didn't start. Or what emulator you use? I WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME.
