NAME: The Chaos Engine series (2 titles)
AUTHOR/VENDOR: Bitmap Brothers/Renegade
RELEASED: various
TYPE: Shooter
LANGUAGE: English

PREMISE: One or two player can choose from an assortment of
mercenaries to do battle with a wide variety of mutants
in an apocalyptic setting. Collect money along the way
to buy new and improved gear.

IMPRESSIONS: The original did for sci-fi shooters what Gauntlet did
for fantasy action games. The second is a letdown on all
fronts save for the two-player split-screen mode, which
                  allows better freedom of movement.

VARIATIONS: The Chaos Engine (1993, states the original premise and
lets you choose from six mercenaries)
The Chaos Engine 2 (1994, only four mercenaries left to
choose from, and more reminescent of a dungeon crawler
than a shooter - this was never released, although
copies of a partially working beta do exist)

This is a very good game in which you have to choose one of the six characters to destroy different kind of monsters. Each killed monster leaves a coin and you should take it. Between 2 levels, you can buy some equipment for your soldier and for the machine partner (if you are alone, you will play with the machine). There are items, you can improve your weapon, and buy health if you are wounded.
Good graphics, better sound, and excellent gameplay.

A very tough game, but you would get many fun with it!

The game play like "truelies" style, but with round design, variety of enemy and variety of game character you can choice.
Don't expect too much on story, it's just a "fight for peace" game:).

you can upgrade your weapon with the power-up items or buy them up, which is a feature of this game.

It having a two-player mode, while it is too hard that for two people to run though a maze with single screen.

The graphics and sounds seems exciting, and the control is easy.
