Cheats For Flashback - The Quest For Identity
#TypeDescription
1Walk Through WallsWhile playing, walk up to any wall. Turn away from the wall, then hold A and press away from the wall. (I.e., if the wall is on your right, face right, hold A and press RIGHT.) The instant Conrad starts to run, release A and face toward the wall. He should be able to walk through it. Note that this appears to be a bug, as if you walk through a wall with nothing behind it you'll die or crash the game.

Excerpt from Genesis Game Guide by The Scribe

NAME: Flashback - The Quest for Identity
AUTHOR/VENDOR: Delphine Software/U.S. Gold
RELEASED: 1993
TYPE: Action
LANGUAGE: English

PREMISE: You're trapped on a distant planet inhabited by aliens
plotting to overtake the Earth. The only problem is
that you don't even know who you are! To stop the alien
attack, you must discover your true identity and fight
your way back through the galaxy to warn Earth! From
the creators of Another World. (Sega Online)

IMPRESSIONS: The follow-up to an all-time gaming classic. Like its
predecessor, it has great polygon-animated cinemas,
stellar character animation, and cool graphics. Also
like its ancestor, it requires careful strategy and can
be quite frustrating at times. Well worth a look for
                  gaming masochists. (Rage Games)

A follow up, but not a sequel to one of the best (Score: 1)

Delphine Software does it again, this time with an even better game engine, making everything hand drawn. Flashback is basically Delphine Software's follow up to Out of this World. The cinemas are fantastic look, and are even better than out of this world's. The graphics are great. Our main character Conrad's animations are some of the best seen, they are very very life like. The sound effects are well done and the gun shots sound cool, and the music is some of delphine's finest. The challenge of this game is is very very hard even on easy, and continue points are few and far between in levels. But if that worries you, just use a save state on an emulator. I highly recommend checking this game out. I give it a 9.

Flashback got a sequel in 97 called Fade to Black. The only problem being that the sequel is not made by Delphine, but by EA, ack! EA made a 3d game with a poor camera system. It's enjoyable, but flawed, and not what I wanted in a sequel. But delphine's game on psx made up for that, Heart of Darkness. Game is awesome! Check it out. It's soon coming out for the gba too. I wonder if flashback might make the gba lists....... If it does it better have a save system! :)

This isn't a game, it's an experience!
From the moment the game starts you'll notice it isn't just your average shoot 'n jump platformer.
The well developed story-line flows just like the adrenaline when you try to grab your gun the shoot the orcs and flyin' cops while trying to solve some puzzles).
Conrad's moves are smooth and it's really cool to leap and roll and do more of those acrobatic stuff.

The only problem I had was the difficulty. Not with the puzzles (they CAN get you mad, thought), it's the enemies.
Conrad is more mobile without his gun and avoiding attacks (esp. against better opp.) can be difficult.

Overall, it's a good game. I never managed to complete it (alien level), so the story isn't concluded (for me).
Well, I'm playing it again now, so we're back in action...Check it out!

what have ya guys been smokin? this game is great, graphics: great, sound: great, and those cenemas blew my mind back in the day, but that game is imposiably hard, if you dont do something exactly right you die! this would be fine if you can save at any time, like after each puzzle, but nooo if you mess up any where you die instantly! this is totaly unfair, as such i give flashback a 2/3, great visuals, but imposiably hard!

Yep......this is in my opinion the greatest Mega Drive/Genesis game of them all.....and christ knows I used to play a lot of them.
One of the finest computer game experiences ever - IF you get into it. If you like your games in 10-second hits then it won't be your bag...
but it's utterly involving, complex and emotionally involving - think an adult, platform version of Zelda and you won't be far off.
Epic, stirring and unforgettable.
