#CodeDescription
Adventure time! Prepare yourself to help Alex save his dad, King Thor, from Ashra, the mean ruler of the planet Paperock. You can get extra lives, get rich fast, and get lots of special weapons by always winning at Janken (Code 40). When using codes for more lives, more than 9 can be built up, even though 9 is the most that can be displayed. For Codes 34 thru 39, the normal cost of a game of Janken ranges from 50 to 1,000, depending on the number of Janken games already played, and the round in which they are played. The normal cost will be displayed before playing Janken, but you can ignore that.

Excerpt from Genesis Game Guide by The Scribe

NAME: Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
AUTHOR/VENDOR: Sega
RELEASED: 1987
TYPE: Platform
LANGUAGE: English and Japanese

PREMISE: Alex Kidd is the brother of King Igul, ruler of Planet
Aries. Acting on a rumored sighting of their missing
father, Alex travels to the planet Paperock to find him.
Why the name? Because the child's sport of Paper-Rock-
Scissors is a planetwide institution, and those who
visit must display some talent in the game. The only
known MegaDrive entry in the long-running and popular
series of arcade and console games by Sega.

IMPRESSIONS: Don't laugh at me for this, but I think it's actually a
really good platformer. Not very challenging, but well
worth playing. Not bad for a game made back in 1987.

The last Alex Kidd game to my knowledge, it's too bad, Alex Kidd was a pretty good character. The game seems to be a recreation of the original Alex Kidd for Arcade/Master System, with the different items (Scopaco Cycle rules) and the jung-keng matches at the end of particular rounds. This games supports fairly good graphics, and music to match. It's too bad it wasn't more of a challenging game.

a great game! i own almost all the games in the AK series. he was almost sega's mascot until sonic came along, but that was the inevitable...*sigh* still, i think the alex kidd games were always fun and had a nice unique style. btw, this one was made in 1989, not the same as the arcade version.

Alex goes 16-bit in this colourful platformer. As with the Master System games, the jolly atmosphere belies the testing gameplay.

Let's face it; the game is obviously aimed towards a young audience. However, unlike most child geared games, this platformer actually plays well, and actually feels innovative. And for a 1987 game, the graphics and sound are quite impressive. Give this a try.

I don't like this game very much. A lot of people say "OK, but this game is of 1987", but I like much more the Master System games, like as Alex Kidd in the Miracle World. In spite of that, I finished the game more than one time, has pretty graphics, and it's allright to kill time.

Remember Alex Kidd in Miracle Word - was included in the Master System Edition 1. My first Master-System Game (with Enduro Racer). Miracle World was GENIAL. This 16-bit Version can't mess with it - i'll give it 7.0
