NAME: Arcade Classics
AUTHOR/VENDOR: Atari/Amoeba/Sega
RELEASED: 1996
TYPE: Multigame
LANGUAGE: English

PREMISE: A multipack that includes three of Atari's classic
arcade games - Ultra Pong, Centipede, and Missile
                  Command.

IMPRESSIONS: The graphics and sound are primitive, just like their
ancestors, but the gameplay is still there. A good grab
if you don't have these already.

Arcade Classics is a collection of three games, Ultra Pong, Centipede, and Missile Command. Each game includes an updated "Sega" version if you can even call it an update.

Ultra Pong - You remember pong right? Of course you do, we all do. Ultra Pong is a slim update that lets you play with added bars and balls for more challenge. The classic version is fun for a little while, but the computer is cheap. Now the updated Sega version.... Ok, here's the problem, the graphics are still late 1970's era style! Come on, Ameoba, you guys can at least add some art in the backround or something. All they add in the "Sega" version is an enhanced sound effect of the ball bouncing off the bars. Lame.

Centipede - A fun little shooter in it's own right, but Millepede was always the better choice. The Classic and the Sega version both seem slower than the original game. The updated Sega version adds also only one thing to the mix, a grass backround. Whoopee.

Missile Command - I used to love this game, playing it with the sega pad just doesn't feel right. Also the fact that the game moves slower than the original doesn't help matters much. Both versions have the updated intro music oddly enough. And of course, the Sega version has better looking backrounds, that's it.

While I still enjoy these games, the choices made while making this cart were poor. If your looking for a good collection, go for Williams Arcade Collection vol. 1 or Atari Collection vol. 2 on saturn. I give it a 4.

This game is not that rare and the games are not great at all - those idiots took Missile Command and made it slow as anything taking away its initial appeal and making it crap.
