IMPRESSIONS:      The graphics are nice but suffer from jerk-and-flitter
                  syndrome, sound is better than most, but the rest is
                  only maudlin' at best.  There are better R-Type clones
                  out there, folks.

There aren't any better R-type clones for the Genesis that I know of . . . The animation is jerky at first, but past the 2nd level the game moves too fast to notice, and the graphics for 1989 were stupendous . . . and that final boss sure is a sight! It's my favorite megadrive only game so far.

its solid. no more, no less. last stage is hard as hell but the final boss(the 'female' bio-mechanoid-thingy from the cover) is somewhat cool imho.
