I realize that it's been classified as a "Final Fight Clone", in various instances, but with that aside, the series does need to be respected. The first game is probably my favorite, which seems to be the least popular of the three. It contains the best music, the most innovative of moves, and it's just, quite simply, the most fun to play. The sequel is my second favorite, featuring more characters and whatnot. The third, however, pretty much misses the boat. Sure, it's probably the most inventive of the three in terms of stages, but its rehashed graphics, horrible music, and just plain boring gameplay---at least in terms of the other two games---leave my mouth with quite an empty taste. Don't get me wrong, though; it's still quite the standalone game. At any rate, the series is superb. |
