by smokeDogg on Friday, 18 January 2002 @ 07:12:44 | Desert strike is a great action game set duiring the gulf war. The plot is pure tounge-in-cheek featuring a dodgy Saddam lookalike planning to annihilate western civilization.
Once the controls are mastered, the game starts to shine. The mission structure is well done and there's a real sense of achievement as you progress through the (quite lengthy) levels. The game never feels "padded out" like many other titles.
The graphics look great and move smoothly, however Jungle & Urban strike feature a much greater variety in locals, ranging from snow-capped mountains to city landscapes.
Urban strike is not quite up to the standards set by Jungle, featuring awkward, jerky, on-foot sections.
Overall one of the Genesis's great series. |
