CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS CONCERNING SAFETYFOR HANDLING THE MONITORS

Before handling the monitors, be sure to readthe following explanations and comply with the caution/ warninginstructions given below. Note that the caution/warning symbolmarks and letters are used in the instructions.

Indicates that handling the monitors erroneously by disregardingthis warning may cause a potentially hazardous situation, whichcould result in death or serious injury.

Indicates that handling the monitors by disregarding this cautionmay cause a potentially hazardous situation, which could resultin personal injury and/or material damage.

Indicates that access to a specific part of tbe equipment isforbidden.

Indicates the instruction to disconnect a power connector orplug.

When performing such work asinstalling and removing the monitor, inserting and disconnectingthe extemal connectors to and from the monitor and its interior,be sure to disconnect the power connector (plug) before beginningthe work. Proceeding the work without following this instructionmay result in shock or malfunctioning.

Using the monitor by converting it without obtaining priorpermission is not allowed. SEGA shall not be liable for any malfunctioningand accidents caused by this conversion.

Primary sideand Secondary side The monitor's circuit, which is dividedinto the Primary side and Secondary side, is insulated. Do nottouch the primary side, and do not touch both sides simultaneously. Not following this instruction can cause a very dangerous shock. When making monitor adjustments, use a non-conductive driver andmake adjustments without touching any part othor than the AdjustmentV.R. and knob. Also, be sure not to cause a short circuit to thePrimary side and Secondary side. If short-circuited, it may causea dangerous shock or malfunctioning.

High-tension Voltage Some of the parts inside the monitorare subject to high-tension voltage in excess of 20,000 volts. Therefore, be sure not to touch the monitor's interior. Shouldsoldering, paper wastes, etc. fall into the monitor interior, turn the power off so as not to cause a malfunctioning or firehazard.

Connecting the CRT and PCBFor combining tbe CRT and PCB, use the specified part No. to maintainthe status of adjustments made at the factory. The anode of theCRT itself wil1 be accumulatively charged as time elapses, generatingdangeous high-tension voltage. The monitor should be used withthe Chassis, CRT and PCB. When repair, etc. is required at thetime of malfunctioning, be sure to send it in an "as assembled"condition. If these are disassembled, what has been charged withhigh-tension voltage may be discharged, causing a very hazardoussituation. Therefore, under no circumstances should it be disassembled.

Static Electricity Touching the CRT surface sometimescauses you to feel slight electricity. This is because thc CRTsurfaces are subject to static; this will not adversely affectthe human body.

Installation and removal Ensure that the MagnetizerCoil, FBT (Fly-Back-Transformer), Anode Lead and Focus Lead arenot positioned close to the sheet metal work's sharp edges, etc.and avoid damaging the insulated portions so as not to cause shockand malfunctioning. (For the name of parts, refer to the aboveFigures).
